Delta Dental Coverage Availability and Fees
Delta Dental offers a number of different plans in Washington State, and the details vary between each policy. However, we can give you a general overview of the type of coverage you might expect:
- Preventive care: 80 – 100 percent covered
- Minor restorative treatment (for example, fillings): 50 – 80 percent covered
- Major restorative treatment (for example, crowns and root canal therapy: 50 percent covered
You will need to check the details of your policy to find out exactly what it covers, if you must pay a deductible, and if there is a waiting period before you are eligible for certain treatments. Your policy also likely has an annual maximum (the most that Delta will pay out for services in a given year), which may fall between $1,000 and $2,000.
Delta’s PPO plans allow you to visit any licensed dentist and still use your benefits, but visiting an in-network WDS dentist will help you get the most out of your policy. That is because we have a contract with Delta that controls pricing and helps both Delta and our patients save money. Plus, since we are so used to working with Delta, we are in a position to suggest strategies that can help you maximize your benefits. For example, we might be able to schedule treatments across calendar years so you can take advantage of two annual maximums rather than just one.
